Curtas 60 seconds of Horror

CURTAS FESTIVAL DO IMAXINARIO with the collaboration of PRODUCCIONES MUTANTES and screenwriter ÁNGEL AGUDO, are pleased to announce the contest 60 SECONDS OF HORROR. A competition that wants to give the opportunity to new filmmakers to shoot a short film of one minute that will be presented in the year 2025.

PARTICIPATION BASES

  1. A maximum of one minute long script will be presented per participant.
  2. The theme of the script will be fantastic, horror, or science fiction
  3. 5 locations in the city of Vilagarcía de Arousa are designated where the story reflected in the script can take place. The locations are as follows:
    1. Concha-Compostela beach
    2. Bamio Beach
    3. Surroundings Pazo Vista Alegre
    4. Xiabre viewpoint
    5. Cortegada Island
  4. Screenwriter ÁNGEL AGUDO (Apocalypse Z, Sweet Home, Estación Rocafort, El Punto Frío) will select the 5 winning scripts and advise them to improve the script.
  5. Curtas Festival do Imaginario undertakes to make available to the participants equipment and professional technical assistance both in the image department and in the sound department.
  6. Participants will be in charge of both the art department and the casting of their script.
  7. Curtas Festival do Imaxinario will coordinate the filming dates with the different teams selected and their teams will have a maximum filming time of one day of 8 hours during the spring of 2025.
  8. The post-production process will depend on each `participant, counting on the post-production advice of sound, color, etc…
  9. Each participant must be responsible and have the permissions of all rights to their work, authorship of the script, soundtrack, etc. Being the responsibility of each of them and the festival not having any responsibility.
  10. The participants will include in the header of each short the logos of Curtas Festival do Imaginario presents as well as those of the main sponsors of the event, and will assign the rights to display the resulting work to the Festival for its first public display in a special event to be held during 2025 .
  11. The deadline for the presentation of scripts will be made by email to 60segundos@curtas.org.
  12. The submission deadline is March 15, 2025.
