From October 3 to November 16, you can enjoy Santipérez: A Life Drawing Nightmares. An exhibition that explores the work of one of the most spectacular horror illustrators, who manages to imbue his works with a dark and fantastical atmosphere. He captures images that range from horror archetypes to the dreamlike worlds of Lovecraft. Santipérez will also be one of the guests at the Curtas Festival do Imaginario 2025.
Santiago Pérez Domínguez, born in Madrid in 1970, began publishing his first comics in the 1990s in Creepy magazine, after winning the publisher’s competition. He has published four albums: Various Horror Visions (Diábolo Editions, 2013), Diablo House (Norma Editorial, 2019), The Taxidermist and Other Macabre Stories (Isla de Nabumbu, 2021), and A Handful of Horror Stories (Diábolo Editions, 2023). All of them compile short stories with themes related to fantasy and horror. He is a regular contributor to Cthulhu magazine (Diabolo Editions), where he has published since 2011. He has also been responsible for the covers of several editorial projects.
He occasionally collaborates with the American publisher IDW Publishing. With this publisher, he published the original Diablo House series (with scripts by Ted Adams) during 2017 and 2018, which he later published in Spain in a single compilation volume by Norma Editorial. With IDW, he also created the covers for Road of the Dead magazine.
His dedication to horror led him to participate in festivals such as Cardoterror, the Las Palmas Comic Festival, and the San Sebastian International Horror and Fantasy Film Festival. For the latter, he designed the official 2024 poster, dedicated to Álex de la Iglesia. Beyond comics, Santipérez collaborates with publishers such as RBA (National Geographic’s history magazine), draws storyboards for advertising, and collaborates on animation projects.
Curtas Festival do Imaxinario has the institutional support of the Vilagarcía de Arousa City Council, the Pontevedra Provincial Council, and the Galician Regional Government, as well as sponsorship from De Angeles Films, Gadis, and Rei Zentolo.
