On the night of Saturday, March 7th, Curtas Festival do Imaxinario was a protagonist at the closing gala of the 46th edition of Fantasporto. The Galician event was honored with the Festival Special Award, a recognition that highlights its career, its contribution to fantastic cinema, and its work in the international promotion of Galician talent.
The award was personally presented by Mario Dorminsky, director of Fantasporto, who during his speech highlighted the close and long-standing relationship that unites the Portuguese festival with Galicia. Dorminsky made special mention of Luis M. Rosales, director of Curtas, underlining the professional bond and collaboration between both over the years.
The participation of Curtas Festival do Imaxinario in this edition of Fantasporto was centered around the presentation of “Galicia Imaxinaria”, a project that places the creativity and visual power of Galician authors in the spotlight of the international fantastic genre. This collaboration reaffirms the festival’s role as a cultural bridge for our audiovisual industry and will culminate in the upcoming edition in Vilagarcía with a retrospective showcase of fantastic genre short films selected by Fantasporto itself.
With this Special Award, Fantasporto recognizes not only the quality of the Vilagarcía festival’s programming but also its capacity to generate international synergies and its unwavering commitment to genre cinema.
