Curtas Festival do Imaxinario takes another step forward in its commitment to the industry and emerging talent with the launch of Curtas Imaxina, the 1st Professional Encounters and Market for Fantastic Film Projects of Galicia. The event, which will take place on October 24th, 2026, was born with the ambition of becoming a key connection point between creators, production companies, and industry delegates.
This initiative seeks to build an agile and direct environment where established filmmakers and new talents coexist. Through public presentations (pitching), networking sessions, and private meeting schedules (one-to-one), selected participants will be able to test the commercial viability of their proposals and forge strategic alliances to bring them to fruition.
Call for entries open to feature films, short films, and series
The registration period to participate in this first edition will be open from July 27th to September 20th, 2026. The call is aimed at individuals (directors, screenwriters) and legal entities (independent production companies) over 18 years of age with a project in development or production phase within fantasy, science fiction, or horror cinema. Feature films, short films, and series formats are accepted, whether fiction, animation, or documentary.
Registration is completely free of charge and must be submitted online by attaching a PDF portfolio with the technical and artistic information of the project. From all candidates, a committee will select a maximum of 15 proposals, which will be announced on October 5th, 2026.
An award with a fantastic stamp and space for the industry
Selected projects will have approximately 10 minutes of pitching time to present their work before a panel of audiovisual professionals and companies. As a financial incentive and support for development, a specialized jury will award the Best Curtas Imaxina Project Prize, endowed with a €666 cash prize.
In addition to the presentation space, the event will include informal networking moments—with coffee breaks and a cocktail reception—aimed at strengthening the industrial ecosystem and boosting the power of Galician and international fantastic film production.
