RICHARD STANLEY
Born in South Africa, Richard Stanley directed two films in the early 1990s that eventually achieved cult status, including Hardware and The Desert Demon. In addition to his work with bands such as Fields of the Nephilim, Public Image Limited and Marillion, Stanley returned to the spotlight with the film adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s The Colour Out of Space.
JORGE FORNES
Born in Barcelona in 1975, he is a self-taught artist who has become one of the most important talents in American comics today.
After several collaborations for independent Spanish and American publishers, which he combined with a job in a car workshop, he began working for DC in 2014. However, his feature film became the center of attention after a few years, in 2019, rising to fame illustrating several issues of Batman, with a script by Tom King. A creator with whom he would repeat collaboration in the miniseries “Heroes in Crisis”. In these years, his work for Marvel’s Daredevil stands out. In 2020, he worked with King again on Rorschach, where both authors delve into the Watchmen universe, in a limited series set 35 years after the original work by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
JAIME MARTIN
Born in L’Hospitalet (Barcelona) in 1966. He began his career in comics in 1985, publishing in magazines such as Canibal and Bichos. In 1987 he began to collaborate regularly with the magazine El Víbora. Ali produced a series on customs with a script by Alfredo Pons. He also tackled his own series as a full author, such as Sangre de Barrio (1989-2005), for which he won the Newcomer Award at the VIII Barcelona International Comic Fair. Other notable works from this period are Los primos del Parque (1991-92), La Memoria Oscura (1994-95) and Infierno (1996). After publishing Invisible in Spain, he began to work with the French publisher Dupuis, where he published Lo que el viento lleva (2007) and Todo el polvo del camino (2010), with a script by Wander Antunes. With Las guerras silenciosas he established himself as one of the most interesting European authors of the moment, a consideration he confirmed with Jamás tendré 20 años (Best Comic Barcelona Award 2017), Siempre tendremos 20 años (Best Comic Barcelona Award 2017), Best Comic Barcelona Award 2021) and Un oscuro manto.
ENRIQUE V. VEGAS
Born in Segovia, Enrique V. Vegas began his career following in the footsteps of great authors such as John Buscema and Barry Smith before moving on to animation. He thus adapted his style and way of working to the format and subsequently began his career as a humorous and parody cartoonist, especially of superhero series and well-known sagas of popular culture. He achieved great success with the public and won a legion of followers. He was voted Best Newcomer at the Barcelona Comic Fair in 2004 (by popular vote).
LUIS CAMACHO
(Seville) Graduate in Fine Arts, professor of artistic drawing in Seville and specialist in H.P. Lovecraft. He presented his “H.P. Lovecraft Zoomorphic Manual” at the festival, a sample of which can be seen on display at the festival.
ÁNGEL AGUDO
Born in Madrid in 1980, he has collaborated with numerous publications, including Academia and ScifiWorld Magazine. He is the author of the book Paul Naschy: The Mask of Jacinto Molina. In 2010 he wrote and directed the documentary The Man Who Saw Frankenstein Cry, presented by Mick Garris. He was the screenwriter for short films such as Go Home, Thalion Ltd. and Soldado. He is also the screenwriter for series such as El Punto Frío, #Luimelia, Amar es para Siempre and feature films such as Sweet Home, Estación Rocafort and Apocalipsis Z: El principio del fin.
ENRIQUE LOJO
Born in A Coruña in 1988. Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from USC and Master in Film and Television Fiction Scriptwriting from UPSA. He began his career as a scriptwriter for Televisión de Galicia, in fictions such as “Luci”, “Serramoura” or “A Estiba”, among others. Linked to the field of web series, he formed a tandem with David Sainz in several projects, among which “Entertainment” (Flooxer) and “Mambo” (Playz) stand out. He has written thrillers such as “La habitacion” (HBO) or “Toy Boy” (Netflix/AtresMedia) and comedies such as “Sabuesos” (TVE) or “El último show” (HBO). He also worked for the development departments of important national production companies such as Illa Audiovisual, Plano a Plano or Secuoya Studios. He recently premiered on Amazon the series “En Fin” that he co-created with David Sainz.
KIKO PRADA
Born in Oviedo, Kiko Prada is a director, producer and screenwriter for film and television. He directed the documentaries “Queridos Monstruos” (2014) and “Vicente Aranda: 50 años de cine” (2013). He also produces and directs dozens of short films. He will present the film “Historias de Halloween” at the festival
