Curtas Festival do Imaxianrio and the Vigo Symphonic Orchestra a Clasica will present their own production: A Noite dos Mortos ao Vivo. That will be given to the George A. Romero’s classic film, Night of the Living Dead (1968), a completely new and immersive performance. While the film is projected on the screen, the Orchestra will perform a live soundtrack specially selected for the occasion, replacing the original music with arrangements that intensify every moment of tension, fear, and drama. At the same time, a team of actors and voice actresses will perform the dialogue in Galician, using a script created specifically for this show, thus offering a new narrative dimension that respects the spirit and legacy of the original work but with a fresh approach culturally close to Galicia, the birthplace of Romero’s ancestors. Lovecraft’s story “Herbert West: Re-Animator,” the film moves the action to the 1980s to tell how, after failed experiments in Europe, scientist Herbert West travels to the United States to work at Miskatonic University.
