Curtas, Festival do Imaxinario
October 23 - November 1, 2020
Throughout our history, we have imagined impossible worlds, extraordinary stories, past and future times, wonderful machines, and incredible fictions that time has turned into reality. Since its conversion in 2016, Curtas has tried to accommodate all kinds of fictions and realities beyond cinema, including other artistic disciplines such as illustration and comics, literature or music in programming.
For this reason we have decided to adapt our name, thus accommodating this melting pot of cultural activities protected under the common denominator of the fantastic, to CURTAS, FESTIVAL DO IMAXINARIO. Seeking to become an engine of the imagination and a stimulus for creativity, trying to transform ideas and realities into an escape valve, to help us escape from the sad reality that we have had to live.
Always with cinema as a flag, this new stage of CURTAS, FESTIVAL DO IMAXINARIO, will present fantastic productions from all over the world, which in many cases will be rigorously premiere in our country, without forget other genres that can be enjoyed in the section of the same title. Comic and illustration, literature and music will continue to be a fundamental part of our programming, including publishing books, exhibitions, talks, etc.
As in previous editions, a prestigious artist will be the designer of the Curtas 2020 poster. Through our social networks and our website, we will present both this and other news, as well as inform about other activities that will take place during the festival.
The 48th edition of CURTAS, FESTIVAL DO IMAXINARIO, will take place from October 23rd to November 1st in Vilagarcía de Arousa, Pontevedra, Spain. Not only respecting all the security conditions and recommendations that the authorities deem appropriate, but developing and implementing a series of own measures that will add to those existing at that time.
CURTAS, FESTIVAL DO IMAXINARIO has the support of the Vilagarcía de Arousa City Council.
