SCREENING
Scream
Director: Wes Craven
Cast: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette
Seeking to foster experiential events, Curtas Festival do Imaxinario is launching The Night of the Ritual this year. A new initiative designed to give the festival a more interactive and participatory spirit, transforming a standard screening into an authentic community celebration.
For this very special premiere, the session will pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of Scream (Wes Craven, 1996), the film that rewrote the rules of the horror genre by inviting attendees to break the fourth wall and turn the auditorium into an extension of the streets of Woodsboro.
Far from the respectful silence of conventional cinemas, audiences will experience this premiere equipped with a Survival Kit—including various props—to actively participate with collective chants. Attendees will be able to answer the phones by shouting “Who is it?!”, cheer for master Wes Craven’s cameo, follow the survival rules, or warn the characters that “You’re going to die!”, in a liturgy of nostalgia and adrenaline featuring a photocall, a scream contest, and an unforgettable group photo to mark this first “ritual” in style.
