The Hands of Orlac
Director: Robert Wiene
Cast: Conrad Veidt, Alexandra Sorina, Fritz Strassny
Orlac, a famous pianist, loses both hands in an accident. Doctors decide to transplant the hands of Vasseur, a murderer condemned to death. The operation is a success, but from that moment on, the pianist begins to be haunted by criminal impulses. He suffers from nightmares and sees the face of a man he believes to be Vasseur. This session features a live score by Jorge Gil Zulueta, a doctor of musicology, pianist, and composer specialized in accompanying silent films. He is a regular collaborator with the Filmoteca Española at its iconic Cine Doré in Madrid, and the Filmoteca de Catalunya. An unmissable event that fuses cinema and music to create something unique.
