There are doors that should never be opened, but at Curtas Festival do Imaxinario, we have decided to peer into the other side. This 2026, the ancient seals that kept the unnameable at bay have begun to yield, and reality as we know it is living on borrowed time. And we want you to experience it from the front row.
Tales from the Threshold (Historias desde o Limiar in Galician) are not just tales; they are the chronicle of a desperate struggle to maintain the stability of our world against primordial creatures that are already pounding on the walls of our perception. They function as a prequel to the Festival, to be published periodically on this page, culminating in the release of an exclusive physical volume—a modern grimoire for those who do not fear looking into the darkness—which you can obtain during the upcoming edition (from October 23rd to November 1st).
The battle for reality has begun in Vilagarcía. Do you dare to cross?
TALES FROM THE THRESHOLD
THE AUTHORS

MANUEL LOSADA
(Pontevedra, 1982) has been dubbed by critics and readers alike as the “Stephen King of Arousa.” His ability to generate tension and oppressive atmospheres has consolidated him as one of the most powerful voices in mystery narrative. With over 400,000 copies sold of his hit The Factory of Forgetfulness, his addictive style positions him as the ideal storyteller to enrich the fantastic universe of Curtas Festival do Imaxinario.

SANTIPÉREZ
(Madrid, 1970) is a master of horror comics whose career took off in the nineties in the legendary magazine Creepy. With a meticulous and detailed style that draws from influences such as Bernie Wrightson, he is an international benchmark with works like Various Horror Visions or The Taxidermist. His time at Curtas Festival do Imaxinario in 2025 demonstrated his capacity to create hypnotic visual worlds, making him the perfect ally for Losada’s narrative.
