This is our main competitive section, a showcase of the year’s best international releases. Here, we’re not just looking for scares; we’re looking for stories that will stay with you.

• What will you find? A carefully curated selection of the most anticipated releases in fantasy, horror, science fiction, and other genres. Works that stand out for their technical quality, daring storytelling, and ability to create atmosphere. Often accompanied by Q&A sessions with their directors, actors, or creators.
• Ideal for: Those who seek the next cinematic gem and appreciate film as an art form.

When night falls, Alucine arrives. This section is a tribute to the wildest spirit of the genre, where the rules of “political correctness” are left at the door, outside the screening room.

• What will you find? Gore, dark comedy, slasher films, B-movies, and extreme offerings. Films designed to provoke visceral reactions: laughter, screams, and applause.
• Ideal for: Late-night screenings, groups of friends, and lovers of cult and underground cinema.

We cannot understand the future of fantasy without honoring its past. Every year, we dedicate a special space to revisiting the history of cinema.

The Official Fantastic Short Film Section is so broad that we’ve divided it into thematic experiences. Looking for a truly terrifying thriller is quite different from seeking a philosophical science fiction story.

It’s the house specialty and the most popular section. “Arrepíos” (chills in Galician) brings together short films designed to get your heart racing.

At Curtas, Galician talent has a privileged showcase. “Feito en Galicia” (Made in Galicia) is our window into the vibrant audiovisual landscape of the region, a space dedicated to celebrating the stories and perspectives born and nurtured in our land. Here, we support local creators, giving them the visibility they deserve and demonstrating that Galicia also produces top-notch cinema, with a special predilection for the fantasy genre we love so much.
