Forty years ago, Stuart Gordon’s film Re-Animator premiered. Its run through markets and festivals sparked controversy and dismay, and its combination of humor and horror captivated critics and audiences, forging a legend that endures to this day.
Freely adapting H.P. Lovecraft’s short story “Herbert West: Re-Animator,” the film moves the action to the 1980s to tell how, after failed experiments in Europe, scientist Herbert West travels to the United States to work at Miskatonic University. There, he will continue his dangerous research, which aims to discover a formula that will allow him to revive the dead.
Now Re-Animator is coming to the Curtas Festival del Imaxinario experiences, a terrifying evening to celebrate Samhain, pairing haute cuisine with a gourmet menu designed by chef Miguel Mosteiro (Gastrolab Arousa), along with a screening of the film and in-house animation by the Clámide and Nydia Theater Workshop. Get ready for a scary time! And remember to come dressed up!
